Camping near Baker Lake

Two weeks before Joseph headed off to school the four Rodgers boys went camping up near North Cascades National Park. While the campgrounds in the park were booked, we were able to stay near a gorgeous lake near Mount Baker. We found an available campsite off a forest road, rather than going to a developed campground.

We brought our kayaks so we were able to go kayaking in the lake as well as exploring around the area. It was a very nice campsite!

Crabbing in the Puget Sound

Jack and Dad went out for their annual crabbing day in the Puget Sound off Camano Island. Though it was near the end of the season, between the two crab pots we dropped (each three times) we were able to get 8 crabs to bring home for dinner.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding on Lake Sammamish

In early August on a sunny Saturday afternoon, Mary Jo and Henry rented some stand up paddleboards for a leisurely jaunt through the lake.
