2/20/11 - Webers Visit Seattle

Over the last couple of days, the Webers have been visiting in Seattle. We had lots of fun after they came home from Sea-Tac Airport Sunday night. Joseph, Jack, Ryan, and Tommy played a game of football, went to the Cascades Mountains, saw a waterfall, went up the Columbia Center, and drove around Seattle. First, on Monday, Tommy and Ryan beat Joseph and Jack in a Weber-Rodgers football game in our backyard. Then, on Tuesday, we drove out to the Cascades Mountains, where we saw a big waterfall, and attempted a hike. The hike was cut short when snow began to fall, and the path became too muddy to walk on without boots. On Wednesday, we drafted players for the Webers-Rodgers fantasy baseball league. The league will begin in April, with the MLB season, and the winner will be defined in September, when the season ends. Also on Thursday, we went up to the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center, the tallest building in Seattle. Then, we went to Pike Place Market, and a bakery in Seattle where we got pastries and hot chocolate. The original plan was to drive the Webers to the airport on Thursday morning, but they stayed in a hotel closer to the airport because lots of snow was supposed to fall that night. When we woke up Thursday morning, we saw 6 inches of snow on the ground, so it was good that we didn't have to drive to the airport through the hilly streets of Seattle.

  1. Hi Joseph! Just a small correction to your flight plan: We went to Chicago first, then Seattle, and on the way home, we went to Denver, then Chicago, and then home! Unfortunately we had to leave Chicago just as Ryan said "he was getting used to it!"

Sorry you got so much snow, but I am glad we left it out there. It was nice here today, and Meghan went up to the beach with her friend!! She didn't go swimming, but put suntan lotion at the grocery store since they just put it out on the shelves!!!

Thanks so much for showing us a good time and sharing your home with us. Talk to you soon! love, aunt janet

  3. Can't believe the Webers brought the snow with
them from NY! Sounds like you guys had a great
time with your cousins. It must of been fun to
show them around and just spend time together.
    Love, Aunt Joan
