After a great skiing trip to Sun Peaks in January, we decided to take another trip to the second-leargest ski resort in Canada (after Whistler) over Christmas week.
On Tuesday, we left at 6:30am for the 5.5 hour drive. We stopped for lunch at Tim Hortons in Hope and then for groceries at Safeway in Kamloops. We arrived around 1:30pm and were able to check into our house and pick up our lift tickets so we would be ready to go the next day.
We skied on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Great dinners in the village and we also cooked in our house. We played board games (Exploding Kittens was the big hit!) and did a puzzle.
Over the course of the week, Joseph and Jack skied around 115 different ski runs - greens, blues, blacks, and even a few double-blacks. Henry estimates that he went up a ski lift 60 times, and did greens and fifteen different blues (no blacks yet for Henry). Mom and Dad had a Nordic lesson and also got lots of Alpine skiing in. It snowed about a foot of fresh powder on Saturday night which made for a very different type of skiing on our last day.
All in all a great trip. Click here for our photo album of our top 20 photos (Flickr has a new interface - click the monitor-with-arrow icon in the top right beneath the "Sign Up" button to see a slideshow of all the photos).
