Jack has played in five games so far, and has been the starting pitcher in three of them.
His last two games were both gems - he pitched complete games in each, giving up 2 runs in one of them (taking a hard-luck loss, since his team didn't score any runs) and giving up 1 run in the other game, leading Newport to their first victory, a 6-1 win over Bothell.

In the Bothell game, Jack didn't give up a hit until the third inning, and didn't give up a run until the team was up 4-0 in the fifth. It was the first game they got to play on the varsity field, a very nice turf field with a scoreboard and the all-time Newport High All-Stars highlighted on the outfield wall.
In each of these starts, Jack has thrown less than 75 pitches across seven innings, scattering a few hits and being backed by a strong defense. He walked only 2-3 people in total across the two games.
