Europe Train Trip - Part 2 of 5 [Paris]

Stop two ... Paris!

We took Eurostar underneath the English Channel, arriving at Paris after just 2.5 hours. Our hotel was in a great location, near Les Halles, from which we were able to easily walk or take the train to the main sites we were visiting.

Activities in Paris included an excellent walking tour of the Ile de Cite (including Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, and ending on Ile St. Louis), a ride up the Eiffel Tower, a trip down the Seine, a visit to the Arc de Triomphe, and a walk from the Place de la Concorde to the Louvre.

Of course, the restaurants were also a focus, with what wound up being voted the top dinner of the trip being a dinner our first night at a classic French Bistro, Aux Crus de Bourgogne, and a pair of outstanding lunches, one right after our walking tour on Ile St. Louis and the other near the Arc de Triomphe. Mary Jo and John went out for a fancy dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant while Jack and Henry went out on their own. Everyone enjoyed both the food and the city quite a bit!
